Virella Crespo & Associates PSC seeks Structural Engineer for work to be conducted in Mayaguez, Puerto Rico. Candidates must be interested in developing and leading within the structural engineering field, working on design of bridges and other civil engineering projects. The candidate will be involved in all phases of structural development of bridge structures, including: planning, scheduling, inspection, analysis, design, cost estimating, developing technical specifications and reports. Responsibilities include: Prepare and review design computations, plan designs, perform drawings for bridge and other related structures, perform cost estimates, technical specifications and project deliverables. Other responsibilities include applying and interpreting codes regulations and permit requirements to design projects. The candidate should have the capacity to work and lead design teams to develop construction projects. The candidate should also have the ability and disposition on working in projects with tight schedules. The candidate should also have the ability to perform value engineering to meet budget and schedule constraints. The candidate should have expertise in three-dimensional modeling of bridges and other civil structures, estimating loads and perform designs. The candidate should have good technical understanding of structural systems and other civil structures to be able to work independent on simple projects and work under supervision on complex projects. The incumbent must possess a Master’s degree in Civil Engineering, with concentration in Structural Engineering and knowledge in Structural and Coastal Engineering and bridge design, knowledge and experience in AutoCad, SAP2000 and ETABS.
